The new 2010 Chevy Traverse remains unchanged since it came out last year. It's a crossover SUV that seats 7-8 and comes with smart features like XM radio, one free year of OnStar, and rear child security door locks. In fact, the new Traverse ranks #1 in U.S. News and World Report Rankings and Reviews' list of affordable midsize SUVs. Four trim styles are available; the LT1, the LT2, the LS, and the LTZ. All the trims come with either FWD or AWD.It's usually the small things that make a difference for the comfort of you and your passengers. For instance, the new Traverse comes with air conditioning, reading lights for the front seat, second row reading lamps, and illuminated entry and exit.
As mentioned before, the new Traverse comes with XM radio, which includes a three month free trial. These include a rear window electric defogger, electronic cruise control, a tilt and telescopic steering column with a brake/transmission shift interlock, and power programmable door locks with lockout protection. A brake/shift interlock automatically applies the brake if no one is in the driver's seat. This prevents your car from rolling away if you forget to put it in "park".
Some exterior features you might appreciate include roof rail moldings, chrome door handles, solar-ray deep tinted glass, and automatic headlamps.
The mechanical features that allow this Chevy to conquer tough terrain include 4-wheel antilock; 4-wheel disc brakes, StabiliTrak, Ride and Handling suspension, and traction control. Additionally, 6-speed automatic; electronically controlled transmission with overdrive, auto-grade braking, and tap-shift manual shift control comes standard on every Traverse.
The safety features included on the new Traverse include frontal and side-impact airbags for the driver and front passenger, and head curtain side-impact air bags for all of the ouboard seating positions. Front passenger airbag supression also comes standard.

The 2010 Traverse 1LT FWD comes with a a 281 horsepower 3.6L SIDI V6 engine, and variable effort power steering. The 1LT seats eight because of its 2-3-3 seating configuration. Variable effort power steering gives you the best of both worlds by decreasing steering effort at lower speeds for parking and increasing steering effort at higher speeds for better stability.
